Hi,
We have a cluster with HA and DRS enabled. We have been having host disconnects and HA did not restart VMs on another host in the cluster. Following are the details of our env and cluster.
Env:
Vsphere 4.1 (All hosts are on ESXi 4.1)
HP Blades
Cluster:
Host MOnitoring: Enabled
Admission control: Enable
Admission control policy: Host faliures cluster tolerates =1
VM Options:
VM restart priority= Medium
Host isolation response = Leave powered on
VM Monitoring: Disabled
1. So, anytime a host status is'disconnected', all VMs in that host are powered on but disconnected (grey and slanted). Does that mean VM Network is also down?
2. If, our case is =VM network down AND managemnet network down and host isolation response = leave powered ON (that is = complete network faliure) ; then VMs will never be powered on to another host because vm files are locked to the storage through that host. So does that mean we should change our settings to host isolation response = shut down
I have gone through some good documents on web but could not figure out what would be the best setting and why HA never kicks in our cluster.
Appreciate any response!
Thanks!!!
